Badrinath or Badrinarayana Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu that is situated in the town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, India. The temple is also one of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu - holy shrines for Vaishnavas - who is worshipped as Badrinath
HOW TO REACH FROM DELHI
➤ By Train :- The nearest railway station to Badrinath is Rishikesh. The Rishikesh railway station is situated 295kms before Badrinath on NH58 and is well connected by Indian railway networks with major destinations of India. Trains to Rishikesh are frequent and Badrinath is well connected by motorable roads with Rishikesh.
➤ By Air :- The Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the closest airport from Badrinath, situated at a distance of around 317 km. It is located in a picturesque setting with the Himalayas in the background. It is a domestic airport and situated at a distance of 22 kms from the city centre of Dehradun.
➤ By Road:- Badrinath is well connected by motorable roads with major destinations of Uttarakhand state. Buses to Haridwar, Rishikesh and Srinagar are available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate.
PLACE TO VISITE
1. VASUDHARA FALLS :- The nectar sweet, Vasudhara Falls surging near the holy city of Badrinath is one of the most enchanting places to visit in Uttarakhand. This ravishing waterfall drops from a height of 400 feet about 122 metres above sea level.
2. VALLEY OF FLOWERS :- Bestowed with the rare and exotic Himalayan flora, the Valley of Flowers is a bouquet of nature peacefully snuggled in the West Himalayan region of Uttarakhand.
3. HEMKUND SAHIB :- Hemkund Sahib is the Gurudwara situated at the highest altitude of 4329 mts. It is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand near Valley of Flowers. This holy shrine got its name from the glacial lake Hemkund, adjacent to the Gurudwara whose literal meaning is the ‘Lake of Snow’.
4. AULI :- Auli is a famous hill station and a popular winter destination as ski resort of India, known for its snowy slopes, Auli has everything that an ideal tourist dreamed for like Himalayan Views, Meadows, adventure activities, romantic vistas.
5. JOSHIMATH :- The town of Joshimath is also nicknamed as Jyotirmath and is the winter seat of Lord Badri, whose idol is brought down from Badrinath temple to Vasudeva temple at Joshimath. This holy town is revered by the Hindus for being an important pilgrimage center of the country.
6. CHOPTA:- Chopta is a picturesque hamlet which is still unexplored by travelers, is also famous as "Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand". Wake up with cool salubrious breeze and chirping of birds in Chopta which is a far cry from the blaring horns of the cities and other hill stations, morning view from Chopta is invigorating when the crimson rays of sun kisses the snow-laden Himalayas.
7. TUNGNATH:- Tungnath peacefully adorned on the Chandranath Parvat is the highest Shiva temple in the world and the highest Panch Kedar temple of Uttarakhand.
WHICH IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT
➤ May to June and September to October are considered the best months to visit Badrinath. The path leading to the temple gets highly dangerous during peak monsoons as landslides and floods are very common during this time of the year
