Kedarnath Dham, located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, is one of the most paramount locations for worshipers of Shiva. The air appears to be reverberating with the name of Lord Shiva amid the mighty snow-clad peaks, enchanting meadows and forests of the lower mountain range of Himalayas. Situated in a breathtaking location, near the source of Mandakini River and at the height of 3,584 meters, Kedarnath Dham celebrates the greatness of Lord Shiva. Kedarnath temple is one of the 12 Jyotir Lingams and is also the most important temple among the Panch Kedars (group of 5 Shiva temples in Garhwal Himalayas). It is also one of the significant temples of the sacred Chota Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand, raising the glory of the place to further heights.

                                      PLACE TO VISITE

1. VASUKI TAL LAKE:- Vasuki Tal or Vasuki Taal is a high glacial lake situated at an impressive altitude of 14,200 feet above sea level in Kedarnath Dham of Uttarakhand.

2. TRIYUGINARAYAN TEMPLE:- Triyuginarayan is a well known Hindu pilgrimage located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. This picturesque village is perched at an elevation of 1,980 and offers panoramic views of snow covered mountains of the beauteous Garhwal region

3. GUPTKASHI:- Guptkashi is situated 47 kms before the holy shrine of Lord Shiva, Kedarnath. It is located on the route to Kedarnath on a ridge on the west side of the Mandakini river valley at an elevation of 1319 mts above sea level.

4. KALIMAT ALMORA:- Kalimat is a fairy tale hamlet located in the Hawalbag Tehsil of Almora district. This village comes under kalimat Panchayat. It is located about 5 km North of District Headquarters Almora and 201 km from Dehradun.

5. DEORIA TAL:- Devariyatal is an emerald lake perched at a height of 2438 mts above sea level. During the early morning on a clear day, Devariya Tal blesses the tourists with miraculous reflections of Chaukhamba peaks on its crystal clear water.

6. UKHIMATH:- Ukhimath is situated at an elevation of 1317 mts above sea level in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state. Ukhimath is also written as Okhimath sometimes. Ukhimath is the home of Lord Kedarnath and Madhyamaheshwar during winters. Worship is performed at the Omkareshwar Temple here during winters, when the temple of Kedarnath remains closed.

7. CHOPTA:- Chopta is a picturesque hamlet which is still unexplored by travelers, is also famous as "Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand". Wake up with cool salubrious breeze and chirping of birds in Chopta which is a far cry from the blaring horns of the cities and other hill stations, morning view from Chopta is invigorating when the crimson rays of sun kisses the snow-laden Himalayas.

8. TUNGNATH:- Tungnath peacefully adorned on the Chandranath Parvat is the highest Shiva temple in the world and the highest Panch Kedar temple of Uttarakhand. It is the third (Tritiya Kedar) in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars.

WHICH IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT

➤ May to June and September to October are considered the best months to visit Kedarnath. The path leading to the temple gets highly dangerous during peak monsoons as landslides and floods are very common during this time of the year.
